STEP 1: let's talk
It begins with a conversation. Similar to New Constuction, the first step is talking about your project. I want to know the scale of your project, your budget, who your contractor is, how long you’re planning on staying in the home, about your family members, if you have pets, what your style is. I want to gather as much information as possible to help me figure out if we’re the right fit. This is also where YOU get to ask questions! Ask me anything you want about the process, or me if you’re really that interested. We’re both gathering all the information to make informed decisions.
-
Step 2: onboarding
If we’ve made it to the next step it means that you’ve signed your scope and you’re officially my client! This step is where we exchange documents and ideas. I’ll send you my “What to Expect” packet, and I’ll ask that you send me plans, inspiration, contact information, and any other documentation I might need (ie. if any selections have already been made). Ideally, your plans should not be finalized so that I can collaborate with you, your architect, and your builder to make any framing changes ahead of time. This will save everyone some headache in the long run. I will also delve deeper into your needs and styles, figuring out what makes you tick and what you want to get out of your remodel.
-
Step 3: design time
Now that everyone has all the information necessary, we get to work! I will create an as-built and then a new plan for design, put together some initial looks, and create a presentation of renderings and selections to show you my ideas for upgrading your home. Everything in this presentation will be based on what you’ve told me and unique to you and your project. Meanwhile, demo will be begin and we start uncovering more and more about what needs to be done. While this is happening, we will meet and make selections for things like appliances and plumbing. Once everything is agreed upon and approved, we move on to our last step!

Step 4: documentation + handoff
We made it! Your hard work is over and now my organized side gets a chance to shine. I will take every selection we’ve made and put it into several documents with all details that the contractor and subs need; including plans, schedules and visual boards. This is where I get to flex my problem solving skills as there are always surprises behind the walls. After I hand off the documents, I will stay by your side to guide you and the contractor through any last-minute changes that need to be made. My job is not done until after you move in and the punch list is complete!
